We will be visiting the planetarium in November.......you can explore stars and space at home to help prepare your child for the trip!

Reading Night

Please come to Welch on

November 15 for a Family Reading Night from 6:00-7:00pm.

Read stories with your families, listen to Welch teachers perform a Readers Theater, learn how to check out Ebooks, and visit with storyteller Celeste Giles from Naperville Public Library. Apply for a Naperville Public library card! Naperville residents must bring a Photo ID and one form of identification with address.

Jolly Phonics

Please practice your jolly phonics sounds at home and look for the sounds in print!  We are almost done with all of the sounds!

PARENT CONFERENCES

Conferences are in NOvember on the 5,6, and 8.  Please make sure you have a scheduled time with your teacher!

I dreamt I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a young child's mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher-the tools he used
were books, music, and art.
The other, a parent, worked with a guiding hand,
and a gentle loving heart.
Day after day, the teacher toiled
with thought that was deft and sure
While the parent labored by his side
and polished and smoothed it o'er.

They were proud of what they had wrought;
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold nor bought.
And each agreed they would have failed
